Some highlights of our core principles are;

Each person is as skilled in some way as another and is entitled to express their views without interruption. Always doing what we say we will and striving for excellence and quality in everything we do.

Personal Development

We value learning, feedback, coaching and mentoring. Whenever we undertake a project it is our responsibility to express our training needs and gather the required skills. We envisage a situation where young individuals will play a veritable role in discovering the destiny of our generation; moving the community from the shackles of the worsening indices of underdevelopment to the path of progress and development as well as using the organization to sharpen individual personal skills in all facets of human life.

PARTNER RESOURCING:

We are firm believers in progressive collaboration thus in that spirit we partner with like-minded organizations, who are doing good work among the poor and suffering in their communities. There are a number of partners working in different spheres of human endeavors such as; health, education, good governance etc. We therefore leverage on such platforms or to some extent strengthens such platforms to serve the basic needs of our people. Where and when such platforms are not available, we work to attract partners by working with the public sector to create the enabling environment that will spur such partners to develop interventions that seeks to address the plight of the people.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION FRAMEWORK:

The scope of our Monitoring & Evaluation concept seeks to stimulate inquiry, rather than to provide ambiguous and technical project tracking jargons. This involves the systematic collection, analysis and use of information from projects and programmes for three basic purposes:

  • learning from the experiences acquired (lessons learned);
  • accounting internally and externally for the resources used and the results obtained (efficiency);
  • taking decisions (policy)

This provide us with better means for learning from past experience, improving service delivery, planning and allocating resources, and demonstrating results as part of our drive to ensure global best practices in our work. Our monitoring plan seeks to measure the following indices in project implementation;

Efficiency:

The manner in which the project is implemented as it relates to time and cost-effectiveness.

Effectiveness:

The extent in which the intervention achieves its intended objectives. This identifies the strengths as well as bottlenecks encountered during the implementation.

Impact:

The deliverables produced at the end of the project which may include intended and unintended positive and negative effects.

Sustainability:

To assess the lasting benefits after the intervention is completed.

THEMATIC AREA POLICY STATEMENTS:

Public Health:

Our searchlight in Public Health issues is beamed on the areas of public health policy and management.  We design programs and advocate for improved public health policies, advocate policy regulation, work with governmental and public health sectors to increase access to quality healthcare services in communities.

Our programs cut across a broad spectrum of public health concerns. They are however streamlined and grounded in the outcome of our research and baseline surveys to feed proposals/policies. Such proposals are geared towards manpower development, developing and implementing health intervention in diseases such as HIV/AIDs, malaria; disease control and surveillance, awareness creation and the like in our communities.

Our goals are achieved through collaboration with practitioners, providing health services with effective management and leadership; making decisions about the provision and delivery of health care services; and developing programs that impact the lives of individuals, especially the excluded communities.

Education, Research and Consultancy Services

Education in Nigeria is an instrument “par excellence” for effecting national development. For the benefit of all citizens, our educational policies must be in consonance with the realities of our environment and the modern world.

Our intention is to be a great partner with government departments, agencies and non-government organizations by conducting large scale assessments and research projects to formulate programmes and policies that will address the educational needs of local communities.

In spite of resource constraints, we are act as direct service provider to students, teachers, parents and indeed all stakeholders in the educational sector to provide services that seek to promote the quality of education in our institutions.

Civic Engagement, Peace Building and Good Governance

The central thrust of our civic engagement policy framework is to provide people with an avenue to express their voice and to contribute to the political functioning in their communities that will translate to a well-functioning democratic system and effective governance because we believe that civic engagement shapes the institutions that govern people’s lives through which citizens will be able to express their voices in political processes, on some aspects of the quality of governance, and their satisfaction with services provided by public institutions. We work with all stakeholders to identify the shortcomings in our democratic institutions, and work towards closing such gaps at the same time dedicated to strengthening existing areas that offer good services.

There is a nexus between people participation, civic engagement and good governance. Civic engagement and people participation in governance reinforce each other and also contribute towards promoting the quality of governance. We made it part of our duty to mobilize various groups with the aim of strengthening their voice in the policy-making processes as a veritable tool for good governance.

No development can be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor and instability. Our peace-building initiative seek to transform relationships between members of the community; to collaborate with a wide range of actors, policy-makers, parties to a conflict; and link them to broader peace strategies. Our aim is to achieve development outcomes, by bringing together groups across conflict divides to work together in fulfilling development needs of local communities.

Agriculture and Local Production

Agriculture in the context of the economy is tied with the various sectors and is essential for generating broad based growth necessary for development. Agriculture is fundamental to the sustenance of life and is the bedrock of economic development, especially in the provision of adequate and nutritious food so vital for human development and industrial raw materials for industry. Our policy thrust is designed to achieve overall agricultural growth and development. It aims at the attainment of self sustaining growth in all the sub-sectors of agriculture and the structural transformation necessary for the overall socio-economic development as well as the improvement in the quality of life of rural dwellers through modernization of agricultural production, processing; storage and distribution; creation of more agricultural and rural employment opportunities to increase the income of farmers and rural dwellers and to productively absorb an increasing labour force in the communities. We focus on protection and improvement of agricultural land resources and preservation of the environment for sustainable agricultural production; conduct advocacy to appropriate institutions and administrative organs to facilitate the integrated development and realization of agricultural potentials in communities.

We work in the area of labour, capital and land whose prices affect profitability of production systems; crops, fisheries, livestock and land use; input supply, pest control and mechanization; water resources and rural infrastructure; agricultural extension, research, technology development and transfer, credit, cooperatives, training and manpower development to encourage agricultural and rural development and attract youth, including school leavers, to go back to the land.

We embark on sustained awareness against factors that affects global warming through bush burning and other environmentally adverse management practices in local communities.

Skill & Entrepreneurship Development

One of the most important solutions for sustainable rural development is skills development. Entrepreneurship is one of the activities which can resolve many major challenges (such as unemployment, low income, lack of economic diversity and etc.) in rural areas because of its positive impacts on all aspects of our community life.

We work to develop entrepreneurship through the exploration of rural resources and the advancement of rural enterprises. Our aim is to make the environment enabling for the young ones to showcase the potentials as well as to drive businesses to thrive. We partner with government and other relevant bodies to develop conceptual framework that suits the peculiarities of local communities.

By stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and subsequent growth of indigenous companies, we will create jobs and add economic value to the community, and at the same time keep scarce resources within the community.

Community Improvement

We embark on aggressive mobilization of the local people to enhance or facilitate closer interaction between the government and the people for the purpose of providing common facilities for communities. This results to the provision of rural infrastructures such as rural feeder roads, rural water and sanitation, rural housing and electrification, the promotion of other extracurricular activities such as socio-cultural and recreational programmes, intra and inter community cohesion activities.

By mobilizing teeming volunteers, we seek to rehabilitate rural roads (feeder, tracks, footpaths, bridges and culverts) which form the basis for transportation and by extension, development drive in our communities. This will lead to accelerated delivery of farm inputs and evacuation of produce; reduced costs in transportation in terms of human energy; and facilitating more efficient distribution of goods and services between the rural and urban sectors.

The deplorable and worsening indices of underdevelopment in our communities is quite alarming, thus the concept of community improvement targets building initiatives that will offer palliatives to the sufferings of the common people in all ramifications.
